Bacong Children’s Home Our first New Life Children's Home was started in Dumaguete City on the island of Negros. We started the home in 1990 with 10 children and two house parents.
Currently we have 32 children in this home with room for a total of 40. In 1998 we purchased land and built new facilities outside of Dumaguete in the rural area of Bacong complete with a dining hall, playground, basketball court and training farm. These new facilities allow the children plenty of room to run and play in safety away from traffic and crowded conditions found in town. They are also in walking distance from their school.
There are two house parents in charge of this home. Alan and Joy have been involved with New Life Children's Home for many years. Joy is a licensed Social Worker and is the liaison between the Philippine homes and the Philippine government. They are assisted by three full-time staff that have over 20 years of combined experience working with our organization.
